Website Development in Agra for Tourism, Leather and Crafts

Websites for Agra tour operators, hotels, leather footwear makers and marble-inlay artisans: direct bookings, export enquiries and online stores.

2 min read

Agra's economy has three pillars: tourism built around the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Fatehpur Sikri; one of India's biggest leather footwear industries; and marble inlay (pietra dura) craft that's sold to visitors and exported worldwide. Each needs a different website, and each is losing money to middlemen that a good site can win back.

Tour operators, guides and hotels

Most tourists book Agra before they arrive, often from abroad, and usually through online travel agents that take a significant commission. A direct-booking website is how you keep that margin.

  • Tour pages that answer every question up front: what's included, timings (including Friday closures and sunrise slots at the Taj), pickup points, price per person, and cancellation policy.
  • Online booking with payment, or at least instant WhatsApp confirmation. International visitors want a booking confirmed before they fly.
  • Multiple languages for your main markets, written properly, not machine-translated and left unchecked.
  • Reviews and trust: a real address, licensing details, and reviews that link to Google or TripAdvisor.
  • An AI trip planner that builds a day or multi-day itinerary from a visitor's dates and interests. I built one into Explore Fusion using the Groq AI SDK, and the same approach works for a tour operator's site.

For hotels and guesthouses: room pages with real photos, a booking engine, and a reason to book direct, such as a better rate, free breakfast or a late checkout.

Leather footwear manufacturers and exporters

Agra's shoe makers mostly sell business-to-business: to brands, retailers and importers. The website is a credibility and enquiry tool:

  • A product catalogue by category, style and material, with specifications and minimum order quantities.
  • Manufacturing capability: capacity, machinery, compliance and certifications, and which brands or markets you supply (where you're allowed to say).
  • A sample-request and quote flow for buyers, plus a retail store if you also sell direct to consumers.

My Chennai guide for manufacturers goes deeper on B2B catalogue and quote sites.

Marble inlay, handicrafts and petha

Inlay tabletops, boxes and decor are high-value pieces, and buyers need confidence before they order. That means detailed photos, dimensions, care and shipping information (these pieces are heavy and fragile), and custom-order enquiries for made-to-measure work. Craftihubs Art Mart and Crafted Frames are handicraft and gift stores I've built. For petha and sweets, see the food section of my Kolkata guide.

Working together

Agra is in Uttar Pradesh like Lucknow, where I'm based. Most projects run remotely, but meeting in person is practical when a project needs it.

Questions Agra businesses ask

Can I take bookings without paying commission to travel sites?

Yes, through your own website with online payment or deposits. Keep the travel sites for discovery and win direct bookings from repeat visitors, referrals and search.

Can the site take international payments?

Yes. Payment gateways can accept international cards, and pricing can be shown in other currencies.

We sell B2B, not online. Do we still need a website?

Yes. Importers and brands check your website before they email. A credible catalogue and capability page is often what gets you onto a shortlist.
